Police arrested a 42-year-old man for illegal possession of a firearm during an anti-criminality patrol in Barangay Tandang Sora on Sunday night, authorities said Wednesday.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) acting director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the suspect by the alias “Mark,” a local resident.
Officers from the Talipapa Police Station were patrolling an alley at approximately 11 p.m. on 18 January when they observed the man “inspecting” a handgun.
When officers approached and asked for the weapon’s legal documentation, the suspect failed to provide it, according to the police report.
Authorities confiscated a .22-caliber revolver and live ammunition. A subsequent records check revealed the suspect has a previous criminal record dating back to 2016.
