Witnesses on Tuesday said personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation were unable to locate fugitive gambling lord Charlie “Atong” Ang after serving a warrant of arrest at a private resort in San Antonio, Zambales.

According to witnesses, NBI personnel from the National Capital Region and Olongapo City arrived at a private resort in Sitio Caarosipan, Barangay San Miguel, San Antonio on 20 January 2026, to serve a warrant of arrest against Ang, who owns the property.

Witnesses said only five NBI personnel were allowed by the caretaker to enter the premises.

During the search of the property, known as the AA Beach House, authorities did not find the subject of the arrest warrant.

Some witnesses also said they had seen NBI personnel monitoring the resort prior to the operation, but noted that the owner was not present at the time of the attempted arrest.
