GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) has warned the public against groups claiming to represent the party without proper authority, following reports of unauthorized membership seminars and leadership training activities in the city.
In a statement released Saturday, PDP Laban Region XII chairman Atty. Rogelio Garcia said the regional leadership has no involvement in, or approval of, the reported activities being conducted under the party’s name.
Garcia explained that PDP Laban follows clear and established procedures for official programs, including membership orientations and leadership development. While the party welcomes initiatives aimed at expanding its ranks and developing future leaders, he stressed that these must be formally approved and coordinated with recognized party officials to be considered legitimate.
“The use of the party’s name without authority not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the organization,” Garcia said, urging supporters and prospective members to remain vigilant.
The clarification, he added, was issued to avoid confusion, protect the public from possible misrepresentation, and uphold the credibility of PDP Laban in Region XII. Party officials advised those interested in joining or taking part in party activities to verify information directly with authorized party offices or duly recognized leaders.
