The Philippine National Police (PNP) issued a stern warning Friday to the associates and security providers of businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, stating that anyone providing shelter or assistance to the fugitive could face criminal charges.

The warning comes as authorities intensify efforts to arrest Ang in connection with the case of dozens of missing sabungeros.

Acting PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said tracker and intelligence units have expanded their monitoring to include known backdoor exits to prevent Ang from fleeing the country.

Police said they anticipate Ang may use his financial resources and social connections to evade capture.

“I advise him to use his resources to defend himself in court rather than playing hide and seek with us, because he will be arrested eventually,” Nartatez said.

As part of the crackdown, Nartatez approved the revocation of Ang’s firearms permits. The PNP is also coordinating with Interpol in the event that Ang manages to leave the Philippines.

To recall, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla previously classified Ang as the country’s most wanted fugitive. The government is offering a P10-million reward for information leading to his arrest.
