Land Transportation Office Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao on Thursday ordered the reassignment of the regional directors of LTO Regions 7 and 4-B to the agency’s Central Office in Quezon City amid allegations of corruption.
Lacanilao said the reassignment was made through a memorandum and implemented to prevent the officials from influencing the impartial investigation into the allegations against them.
He said the move was carried out pursuant to Department of Transportation Office Order No. 2026-011 and aligns with the agency’s commitment to integrity and accountability.
Lacanilao stressed that addressing corruption remains a key pillar of his seven-point agenda for the LTO, which focuses on institutional reforms, transparency, and stricter measures to eliminate unethical practices within the agency.
“This reassignment is a clear signal of our resolve to pursue justice without compromise—we will not allow any individual to hinder efforts to cleanse our ranks and restore public trust in the LTO’s services,” Lacanilao said.
The investigation will be conducted by designated oversight units within the Department of Transportation, with the findings to be made public once completed.
