Capital1 made a bold move by signing eight players to shore up its roster ahead of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
The Milka and Mandy Romero-owned franchise invested heavily in acquiring grizzled veterans led by former Alas Pilipinas middle blocker Chery Nunag to complement its young crew bannered by top overall pick in the recent Draft, Bella Belen.
Capital1 announced its additions in separate batches on Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon.
Nunag, who parted ways with Choco Mucho after her contract expired last month, brings a wealth of experience to a team looking to go deep in the year-opening tournament slated to begin on 31 January.
“I chose Capital1 because I see a young team with so much potential and a strong desire to grow. I want to be part of a team that is still building its identity, learning together, and creating something meaningful over time,” the 5-foot-11 Nunag said through her agency VP Global Management.
“Being in an environment where growth, trust, and commitment matter is important to me, and I believe Capital1 is a place where those values are present,” added the 33-year-old player, who won a PVL title in 2019 with Petro Gazz.
Solar Spikers Brazilian mentor and former Alas head coach Jorge De Brito also got key pieces in champion setter Jasmine Nabor, Shaya Adorador and Pauline Gaston from disbanded squad Chery Tiggo.
Capital1 added another frontline muscle by taking in Ezra Madrigal after her stint with Akari.
The Solar Spikers added wingers Ysa Jimenez and France Ronquillo from Galeries Tower and another defense specialist in libero Rachel Jorvina from Nxled to back skipper Roma Mae Doromal.
