Following negative news towards yearend that have been circulating against Department of Tourism (DoT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, hitting her for putting her photos instead of the country’s stunning destinations, in a magazine, the DoT hit back, saying that the claims proliferating are misleading and erroneous.
“The DoT issues this statement to clarify two separate matters arising from false and misleading claims circulating online. Philippine Topics is a private publication and not an official magazine of the DoT,” said the DoT secretary.
Denial
“The Department did not contract, pay, commission, or direct the magazine to produce its cover or feature story,” she stressed.
Posted a critic on the controversial post, “Instead of focusing on the scenic destinations and tourist arrivals, our Department of Tourism focuses on promoting Christina Frasco na para bang siya ang pinakamagandang tourist spot ng bansa (as if she is the most beautiful tourist spot in the country).”
