A dental facility was donated to Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City on under the Kilos Calawis CSR program of Prime Infra Foundation Inc. (PIF) and Olympia Violago Water and Power Inc. (OVWPI).

The clinic expands the dental services for villagers — previously limited to tooth extraction — to include preventive dental services to ensure healthier teeth and better hygiene for residents.

The airconditioned and curtained facility also provides comfort to patients.

PIF head of programs and operations Bernadette Tan, OVWPI CSR manager Andrew Bag-ao and OVWPI CSR officer Rolly Gramo turned over the facility to local officials led by Second District Councilor Dr. Ian Masangkay on 20 November.

Bukidnon IPs get clean water

Some 340 indigenous peoples from the Manobo-Higaunon communities in the villages of Mendez, Bacusanon and Nabaliwa in Pangantucan, Bukidnon now have access to clean and safe drinking water using a ceramic filter called Hydria.

THE Hydria helps mitigate health risks posed by unclean water and enhances the quality of life for remote communities.

Developed and patented by the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology as a low-cost alternative to imported water filters, the portable Hydria is housed between a lightweight plastic jug and a container, making it more durable and practical for household use compared to traditional clay jars. It effectively removes bacteria, dust, and other impurities while remaining easy to maintain.

Local residents previously rely on open springs and untreated water sources, which are often contaminated with harmful bacteria and impurities.

Department of Science and Technology-Bukidnon provincial S&T director Ritchie Mae L. Guno turned over the filter to the local government last 13 November.
