Senator Cynthia Villar and the Villar Foundation on Wednesday, 17 December, were recognized by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), led by National Director Elizer Salilig and BFAR–NCR Regional Director Noemi Lanzuela, for their unwavering support to the agency’s programs – particularly in mangrove rehabilitation, coastal law enforcement, and the establishment of learning spaces that advance fisheries education and strengthen community stewardship – during a ceremony in Quezon City.
Villar underscored the importance of protecting the environment and fisheries through strong public-private collaboration to restore vital ecosystems and advance environmental protection legislation.
