San Miguel Beer chalked up its eighth straight win in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup after a 135-115 victory over Terrafirma on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. 

CJ Perez erupted for 26 points as the Beermen now hold an 8-2 win-loss record and share the top spot with Rain or Shine but nine-time Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo’s triple-double of 10 points, 13 rebounds and ten assists in 29 minues of play that glowed.

Even with one of the coveted twice-to-beat advantages secured, head coach Leo Austria said he wants his players to not underestimate the competition.

“It’s a welcome development for us. This was our goal in the conference,” Austria said.

“Still, we have to work hard because other teams are hard to beat. You cannot relax.”

Jericho Cruz had 17 points for San Miguel while Jeron Teng had 15 points. 

Maverick Ahanmisi’s 20-point output wasn’t enough as the Dyip finished the elimination round with a 1-11 slate.
