Makati City will host the much-anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars on 19 December, officially kicking off the annual film festival.
Mayor Nancy Binay expressed the city’s honor in hosting the event, inviting the public to join the celebration of Philippine cinema and witness the parade featuring the floats of the eight official movie entries.
“We are privileged to play host to the 51st MMFF, and we welcome all the stars who will participate in the parade and spread cheer to the public this Friday,” Binay said.
The parade route will pass through the heart of the Central Business District. Movie-themed floats are scheduled to assemble at Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City at 1 p.m. before traversing key Makati thoroughfares and culminating at Circuit Makati.
The procession will utilize major streets, including Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, JP Rizal Street, and A. Reyes Avenue.
Binay advised motorists and commuters to prepare for traffic adjustments and possible heavy congestion during the event. She assured the public that the city’s Public Safety Department has been directed to manage traffic and maintain safety and order.
The local government of Makati has established close coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the MMFF’s main organizer. Parade organizers have also been asked to assist in managing traffic flow and ensuring the safe execution of the event.
