The yuletide season is in full swing as December reaches its midpoint. Across the metro, Christmas parks glow brighter, tree-lighting ceremonies draw crowds, light shows dazzle from every corner, and mall sales stretch endlessly into the night, an annual rhythm befitting the Christmas capital of Southeast Asia. Yet at Alabang Country Club, the celebration chose an intimate, more meaningful direction, one that returned the season to its core: family, and most especially, children.

Set against the club’s expansive polo field, ACC’s Santa Lands Christmas celebration unfolded with inflatable playgrounds rising beside neatly lined food and dessert stalls, complemented by wooden tables thoughtfully arranged amid the lush greenery. The scene felt intentionally unhurried, evoking a sense of old-fashioned togetherness, warm and deeply familial. It was the kind of setting where conversations linger, laughter carries farther, and the simple act of being present feels like a gift in itself.

The afternoon came alive with interactive games led by “Santa’s helpers,” instantly filling the field with a Disney-like charm. Dance routines, playful games, and cheerful sing-alongs saw children eagerly stepping forward, their excitement building organically as the day moved closer to its most anticipated moment.

That moment arrived when a Bell 505 helicopter began circling above the polo field, its low hum cutting through the chatter below. Heads tilted skyward as children and families rushed toward the center, eyes wide with wonder. Ron Barretto Ciprez's Santa Claus made his entrance not by sleigh nor reindeer, but by whirring rotor blades, an arrival that felt part Christmas fantasy, part action-movie spectacle.

What followed felt nothing short of magical. The children welcomed Santa like a grand welcoming committee, offering cheers, high-fives, hugs, and the occasional shy smile, while parents captured fleeting moments with quick selfies.

Santa handed out gifts one by one, each child present called by name, a small but powerful gesture that transformed a festive program into a deeply personal experience, one destined to live on in memory long after the decorations are packed away.

For Alabang Country Club, Santa Lands was more than a holiday event. It was a statement of values. By centering its celebration on community, connection, and childlike wonder, the club turned its polo field into a shared holiday home. In a season increasingly defined by scale and spectacle, ACC chose sincerity, reminding everyone present that the true magic of Christmas lies not in how grand it looks, but in how deeply it is felt.
