An 18-year-old male was arrested on Saturday night, 13 December, in Taguig City for alleged sexual abuse of a minor.
The suspect, identified as alias “Mark,” a 12th-grade student and resident of Barangay Western, was apprehended following a complaint filed by the 12-year-old victim’s mother. The incident reportedly occurred around 6:00 p.m. along Italy Street, Barangay Pinagsama.
Investigation revealed that the victim had met the suspect with her friends at her residence. When her companions left, the suspect reportedly remained inside the house, where the abuse took place.
The incident was discovered when the victim’s mother saw unfamiliar footwear outside the house. The victim then disclosed the incident to her upon questioning.
The mother sought the assistance of a barangay security personnel, who arrested the suspect and turned him over to the Taguig City Police Station’s Women and Children Protection Desk. He is currently in police custody pending further investigation.
