The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Saturday commended police officers from the Parañaque City Police Station for the successful rescue of a 26-year-old Chinese national in an alleged kidnapping case in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque City.
NCRPO Regional Director Police Major General Anthony Aberin said the rescue followed a report received through the Philippine National Police (PNP) Hotline Facebook page, prompting an immediate police response to Room A1911 of Marina Seaview Residence.
The victim was found with four male suspects aged 25 to 31 and one 39-year-old female suspect. All five suspects are foreigners.
Initial investigation showed that the victim had allegedly been detained since December 9, with the suspects demanding P1 million for his release.
The victim disclosed that P500,000 had already been handed over prior to the rescue. All suspects are now in police custody for further investigation.
Aberin stressed that timely reporting and swift police response remain key in preventing serious crimes.
“This incident highlights how crucial prompt information is in preventing crimes from escalating. Once the report reached our units, our officers acted immediately, verified the situation on the ground, and ensured the safe recovery of the victim," he said.
