With the Christmas rush in full swing, Honda Philippines is urging riders to adopt cost-efficient travel habits amid the season’s expected traffic congestion and rising transportation expenses.
As malls extend hours, bazaars multiply, and holiday gatherings fill up the calendar, motorists are seeing longer idle times on the road—a situation that often leads to higher fuel consumption. Honda said riders can significantly cut travel expenses by using fuel-efficient motorcycles designed for heavy urban traffic.
The company highlighted the All-New PCX160 as a practical option for holiday travel, noting its fuel-saving and safety-focused features.
Honda said the model’s Idling Stop System automatically switches off the engine during long traffic stops and restarts with a throttle twist, reducing fuel wastage at choke points. It also comes with a 30-liter luggage box, allowing riders to store shopping bags and holiday items securely.
Powered by a 157cc 4-valve, liquid-cooled eSP+ engine, the PCX160 promises strong performance without compromising fuel economy—an advantage for riders hopping between back-to-back reunions and events.
Honda added that riders who want to avoid surge pricing during December may find motorcycle commuting more cost-efficient than relying on paid transport. The RoadSync variant of the PCX160 comes equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System and Honda Selectable Torque Control for added stability on slippery holiday roads.
The company emphasized that choosing a fuel-efficient vehicle can help riders manage heavier travel demands without straining their budget.
