Samsung Philippines has marked the third year of its “Solve for Tomorrow” competition, a program that engages high school students in developing technology-based responses to social and environmental problems.
AA Abjelina, the company’s head of corporate social responsibility, said the initiative has been implemented in more than 50 countries and reached an estimated two million people globally since its launch 15 years ago.
In the Philippines, the program is held in partnership with the Department of Education and is open to students from Grades 8 to 10.
Entries are focused on themes such as environmental sustainability, technology-driven social change, and the use of artificial intelligence to address community needs.
This year, 350 proposals were submitted nationwide. A panel of judges shortlisted 10 projects for the final round.
Samsung said intends to continue staging the competition annually.
