The local government of Marikina City called on qualified professionals Monday to apply for full-time guidance counselor positions to strengthen campus mental health support and student protection across the city’s public schools.
The Department of Education’s Schools Division Office of Marikina announced 31 open positions for the School Counselor Associate I role.
Successful applicants will be deployed across the city’s 33 public schools, which include 17 elementary and 16 secondary campuses.
Mayor Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro stated that recruiting additional counselors forms part of broader city initiatives aimed at crime prevention and student welfare.
“We hope that hiring more counselors in schools will help contribute to a more compassionate and nurturing environment, and improve the mental and emotional health of students,” Teodoro said.
