The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday disclosed that it has not seen or received any copy of an alleged Interpol arrest warrant reportedly linked to Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa in connection with crimes against humanity charges before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Atty. Polo Martinez, DOJ spokesperson, in a message, cautioned against speculation on the matter, saying it would be “premature and speculative” to discuss the issue at this time.
“The DOJ reiterates that it has not seen or received a copy of any alleged warrant,” Martinez said.
Martinez added that the department remains committed to following both domestic and international law in any legal proceedings.
The remarks come amid circulating reports that Interpol had issued an arrest notice for Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa served as the Philippine National Police chief during the administration of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
