DAVAO CITY — Ateneo de Davao University and Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) crowned themselves as the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and Passerelle city champions, respectively, after beating separate foes in the finals last Sunday at the San Pedro College gym here.
Ateneo de Davao University-A bested Catalunan Grande Elementary School, 57-38 for the SBP (12U) crown while RMC nipped Philippine Academy of Sakya Davao Incorporated, 84-73 for the Passerelle category title.
Zander Banzali of Ateneo and Marvin John Aguilar emerged as Most Valuable Players for the SBP and Passerelle divisions, respectively.
Host San Pedro College Basic Education settled for third place in the SBP category while ASKAPS Academy took fourth place. Catalunan Grande Elementary School bagged the Sportsmanship Award.
Holy Child College of Davao, which also took the Sportsmanship Award, wound-up third in the Passerelle class and Ateneo de Davao University took fourth.
