The controversy surrounding Miss Universe 2025 Fatima Bosch of Mexico has escalated further after the Miss Universe Thailand Organization confirmed that Thai businessman and Miss Universe Thailand national director Nawat Itsaragrisil has filed a criminal complaint against the newly crowned queen over what he alleges are “false allegations.”
In a statement posted on 3 December, the organization said the complaint was filed in Thailand on 12 November 2025.
“Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil has formally filed a criminal complaint against Ms. Fatima Bosch Fernandez in Thailand on 12 November 2025. If any further defamatory actions are discovered, additional legal action will be taken to the fullest extent of the law.
“We request that all media outlets exercise caution when reporting this matter and refrain from cooperating with or amplifying Ms. Fatima’s false allegations. Failure to do so may result in legal action against such media entities as co-conspirators in defamation,” the group said.
The development comes weeks after Bosch’s post-coronation interview with ABC News, where she recalled walking out of a pre-sashing event on 4 November after feeling “humiliated” by Itsaragrisil. She claimed he called her “dumb,” a remark that went viral and spurred a walkout from several contestants in solidarity.
Miss Universe Thailand, however, maintains that Bosch misquoted Itsaragrisil.
“We wish to reaffirm that Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil never called Ms. Fatima Bosch a ‘dumbhead.’ What he said was ‘damage,’ which is clearly audible in the voice recordings that have already been widely circulated across various platforms.
“The said sentence ‘If you follow the order from your national director, you’re damage, if you not you can do it. I very happy and the good report will go to organize…..’” the group said.
The organization also accused Bosch of refusing to retract her allegation even after being “made aware of the facts.”
According to the post, the Mexican beauty queen “continued to falsely accuse him in multiple interviews, seemingly for personal gain and to justify herself throughout the competition — after which she was ultimately crowned Miss Universe, as everyone is aware.”
Bosch has not yet responded to the complaint, and her only public remarks remain those aired in her ABC News interview following her November 21 coronation in Bangkok.
As tensions rise, the dispute between the reigning Miss Universe and one of the pageant world’s most outspoken national directors appears poised to become one of the most contentious episodes in modern Miss Universe history.
