St. Luke’s Medical Center–Quezon City has strengthened its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to indigent and underserved Filipinos with the launch of the Evelyn D. Ang, or Dana, Charity Ward on 24 November.

“The Evelyn D. Ang or Dana Charity Ward represents the very heart of St. Luke’s mission—to bring world-class healthcare to every Filipino, regardless of background or circumstance,” St. Luke’s Medical Center President and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Serrano said.

The 40-bed charity ward reflects the legacy of Evelyn Ang, the late wife of philanthropist Phillip Ang. Evelyn, a former president of Western Guaranty Insurance Company, was known for her advocacy in supporting cancer patients, initiating feeding programs, and assisting in disaster relief operations. Her niece, Carmina Ang, described her as “a woman who lived with purpose and believed in doing what is right.”

Named after the Sanskrit word dāna, meaning “selfless giving,” the ward will serve inpatient and outpatient beneficiaries of St. Luke’s Quezon City and Bonifacio Global City.

For Dr. Benjamin S. A. Campomanes Jr., president of the St. Luke’s Medical Center Foundation, the charity ward is "more than a facility. It is a movement of collective generosity.|
