The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has “implemented the necessary preparations and precautions to minimize the impact of Tropical Depression Verbena on transmission operations and facilities,” as the weather system moves closer to the country.
NGCP said Monday crews have been securing communications links, stocking repair materials, and deploying line teams to key areas to speed up restoration once the storm passes.
These steps fall under the grid operator’s Integrated Disaster Action Plan, which sets mandatory readiness protocols for facilities in the storm’s path.
