FRONT view shows the Fronx’s solid build and safety-focused design highlighted in its 5-star ASEAN NCAP result.
Suzuki’s Fronx has joined the region’s safest vehicles after earning a full 5-star rating from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP).
The result shows the model’s strong performance under the program’s 2021–2025 testing protocol, which looks at adult and child protection, driver-assist technologies, and how well a vehicle helps protect motorcyclists in real-world road conditions.
Based on ASEAN NCAP’s breakdown, the Fronx posted 36.71 out of 40 for Adult Occupant Protection, showing how the body structure and restraint systems work together in a crash.
It also scored 15.27 out of 20 for Child Occupant Protection, 15.71 out of 20 for Safety Assist Technologies, and 10 out of 20 for Motorcyclist Safety. These add up to 77.7 points, enough to secure the program’s highest rating.
The model tested was the MY25 unit built in Indonesia. It carries the same HEARTECT platform used across Suzuki’s latest generation of vehicles.
The platform uses high-rigidity materials designed to absorb and disperse impact energy, reducing cabin deformation in a crash. Six airbags are fitted, front, side, and curtain, which give all occupants a protective barrier around the cabin.
The Fronx offers ISOFIX lower anchor points and top tether hooks as standard, allowing child seats to be locked in securely. Seatbelt reminders are installed for every row, encouraging consistent use among passengers.
These features, combined with the vehicle’s structural strength, helped the Fronx meet the strict scoring requirements under the child and adult protection categories.
Much of the Fronx’s strong showing comes from its extensive list of driver-assist features under Suzuki Safety Support.
The system includes Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking through Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), which detects the possibility of a collision and applies braking to help avoid or lessen impact.
Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention and Lane Keep Assist work together to keep the vehicle within its lane, functions that activate at speeds of 50 km/h and above.
Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Crossing Traffic Alert add further awareness, especially useful on multi-lane city roads and parking areas.
Other safety functions include Automatic High Beam, which switches lighting to avoid glare for other road users; Electronic Stability Program; Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution; Hill Hold Control; and a pedal release system designed to reduce lower-leg injuries in certain frontal impacts.
The SGX variant also offers Adaptive Cruise Control, which maintains a set speed and distance from the vehicle ahead.
Suzuki Fronx carries practical daily-use safety features such as parking sensors and a 360-degree camera in the SGX variant.
With a combination of structural strength, comprehensive airbag coverage, and advanced driver-assist technologies, Suzuki’s Fronx presents itself as a compact SUV built with modern road realities and safety in mind.
