The crew of a half-submerged motorized banca was rescued by authorities in the waters off Hamtic, Antique, on 20 November.
According to a report from the Coast Guard Station Antique, information about a distressed motorbanca in the area was relayed to the station, prompting an immediate deployment of Coast Guard personnel in coordination with barangay officials to conduct search and rescue operations.
After several coordinated efforts, responders located the vessel approximately 42 nautical miles from the shoreline of Barangay Asluman, Hamtic. The motorbanca was found half-submerged with two fishermen onboard, both of whom were reported to be in good physical condition.
The Coast Guard team provided immediate assistance and successfully towed the vessel back to the shoreline of Barangay Asluman.
Coast Guard Station Antique assured the public that it remains in a quick-response posture, ready to address maritime emergencies, safeguard lives, and ensure maritime safety within its area of responsibility.
