EcoFlow enters Philippine market with PowerOcean home solar storage system
Published on

EcoFlow has officially entered the Southeast Asian home energy storage market with the launch of the EcoFlow PowerOcean Single-Phase in the Philippines, positioning the country at the center of its regional expansion strategy.

The system — already commercialized in Europe — is designed to provide reliable backup power, smart energy management, cost-efficient consumption, and industry-grade safety for households seeking energy independence.

The launch comes at a time when more Filipino homes are turning to solar power amid soaring electricity prices, recurring power outages, and limited grid service in far-flung communities. While rooftop solar installations have become increasingly common, EcoFlow noted that most setups lack integrated storage, resulting in energy waste and limited financial returns. PowerOcean aims to fill this gap by offering a smart, whole-home solar-plus-storage solution.

Intelligent energy use for lower household costs

EcoFlow highlights that the PowerOcean is built for savings through a combination of high-efficiency hardware and automated power scheduling. Its inverter supports up to 12 kW PV input and a 95% depth of discharge, ensuring maximum use of stored energy.

The unit features an AI-driven TOU (time-of-use) scheduling system, which automatically determines when to charge, discharge, or export back to the grid by factoring in electricity price trends, weather forecasts, and household consumption patterns. PowerOcean also offers cost forecasts and continuous optimization — a capability that has helped European households achieve up to 77.8% reductions in electricity costs, according to EcoFlow.

Scalable, durable, and designed to last

The plug-and-play system starts at 5 kWh and can scale up to 10 kWh or 15 kWh, allowing families to upgrade their storage capacity over time. Equipped with CATL LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery cells and a 6,000-cycle lifespan, PowerOcean is built for heavy daily use and is backed by a 10-year warranty.

Safety and ease of use

PowerOcean incorporates multiple safety features, including an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) and an IP65 weather-resistant rating for stable performance in high heat, humidity, and extreme weather. Users can monitor and manage power status through a mobile app or voice commands via an AI assistant.

The system is already sold in key European markets including Germany and the UK, and has earned distinctions such as the German Innovation Award and German Design Award, alongside features in CHIP and PV Magazine.

Availability

The EcoFlow PowerOcean Single-Phase became available in the Philippines on October 30. Homeowners can register on the EcoFlow website to receive free quotations.
