Small dogs now allowed in PAL cabins
Published on

Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced Wednesday that it will begin allowing small dogs to fly inside the cabin on a limited number of domestic flights. The service, named “FurPAL,” is being offered initially on selected flights to Boracay (Caticlan), Bohol (Tagbilaran/Panglao) and Siargao.

The add-on service will cost P2,500 one way. The airline requires the dogs to be secured in a small carrier that can fit under the cabin seat, with a specified maximum size of 45 cm x 25 cm x 28 cm.

Before a pet is accepted, passengers must present several documents, including a veterinary health certificate, a shipping permit issued by the Bureau of Animal Industry, and a signed waiver form.

PAL cited that the service is currently limited to small dogs but may be extended to other dog sizes and other types of pets in the future, depending on aviation security and regulations.
