

The Bataan Freeport is gearing up for the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) 5150 Triathlon that is set to take place on November 16, 2025, pushing the sports tourism sector in the area to new heights.
According to Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB),the FAB 5150 marks a milestone for the province since this is the first-ever Olympic-distance triathlon in Bataan, bringing together athletes, triathletes, and the local community for a world-class sporting event.
AFAB met with the IRONMAN Group’s Sunrise Events Inc., together with the AFAB Public Safety and Security Department (PSSD), Mariveles Public Safety Office, Mariveles Tourism Office, PNP-Mariveles, Philippine Coast Guard-Mariveles, and Camaya Coast, and conducted the second coordination meeting.
The meeting focused on ensuring comprehensive coordination in security, road and traffic management, and medical response to guarantee a smooth and safe race experience. Each participating agency presented updates on their respective operational plans, command post assignments, and emergency response measures.
By convening this coordination meeting, AFAB and its partner agencies reinforced their shared commitment to ensuring that every aspect of the FAB 5150 Triathlon, from security and logistics to medical response, is executed with precision and excellence.
The FAB 5150 Triathlon reflects the government agency’s continuing efforts to promote a Freeport environment that supports wellness, tourism, and inclusive development.
“With Mariveles’ ideal setting for endurance sports, the Freeport Area of Bataan is poised to emerge as a prime destination for international triathlon events,” AFAB stated.
