The Land Transportation Office–National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) warned the public Sunday about a phishing website closely mimicking the official Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal, designed to defraud users.
LTO-NCR regional director Roque Verzosa III said the fake website is a scam that tricks people into paying nonexistent fines that are not recorded in the official LTMS database.
Verzosa added that the LTO has received reports of text and Viber messages claiming to be from the agency.
These messages often include fraudulent links, such as “ltms-portalph.com,” and urge recipients to pay fictitious fines online.
“To protect yourself, always verify the website link before entering any personal information or making payments,” Verzosa said.
