
A heated basketball game turned violent after a player was stabbed following a quarrel, police said over the weekend in Sampaloc, Manila.
Operatives of the Manila Police District Station 4 arrested the suspect, identified as Aaron Quiambao y Baginang, 18, single, a student, and resident of Barangay 576, Sampaloc.
The victim was identified as Richmond Enmil, 19, single, a student, also a Sampaloc resident.
According to the police report, the victim was looking for his friends at their hangout near a tricycle terminal when the suspect arrived aboard a motorcycle.
Without warning, the suspect allegedly drew a kitchen knife, mauled the victim, and stabbed him.
The victim tried to run but was caught by the suspect, who stabbed him in the back before fleeing aboard the same motorcycle.
