The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) vehemently denied allegations from anti-corruption group Artikulo Onse that it is “cherry-picking” cases to protect allies of the current administration.

The denial came after Artikulo Onse claimed that the ICI’s recommendation to indict former Department of Public Works and Highways officials was merely “for show,” accusing the commission of offering up “sacrificial lambs” to create the appearance of accountability while sparing influential figures.

ICI Executive Director Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka rejected the accusation, saying the commission’s work is guided solely by facts.

“The commission is continuously investigating and doing case build-up grounded on evidence,” Hosaka said.

He added that anyone implicated by the commission’s findings will be included in its report and referral to the Office of the Ombudsman.

Hosaka emphasized that the ICI’s work is not influenced by political considerations.
