Malacañang on Thursday confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is still reviewing the report submitted by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on its probe into alleged anomalous flood control projects.
“Inaaral pa po hanggang sa ngayon – medyo makapal po ang report na ibinigay. Pero most probably, maibibigay po kaagad namin kung ano ang mangyayari po; at kung magtutuluy-tuloy po ang ICI, ibibigay din po namin ang estado nila,” Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said during a briefing on Wednesday.
Castro said the President has already read a copy of the report, which was first transmitted to the Office of the Executive Secretary.
The ICI submitted its 125-day report in early February 2026 and endorsed nine referrals against 65 individuals to the Office of the Ombudsman. Those named include lawmakers and officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways.
The probe centered on alleged irregularities in flood control projects, including 80 suspected “ghost projects” and 15 major contractors.
Malacañang has yet to announce whether the ICI will continue its mandate following the submission of the report.
