BingoPlus backs Leyte golf event honoring WWII liberation milestone

BingoPlus served as the major sponsor of the annual Leyte Liberation Golf Cup, held on 18 and 19 October at the San Juanico Golf & Country Club in Tacloban City, Leyte.
The tournament commemorates the historic Leyte Gulf Landing during World War II, when General Douglas MacArthur fulfilled his promise to return to the Philippines, an event widely regarded as the turning point that paved the way for the country's liberation.
“As the major sponsor, BingoPlus continues to nurture new and seasoned talents in the sport, while also promoting local tourism to help elevate golf tournaments to new heights, bringing greater visibility and excitement together with the ongoing International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus: Swing for Filipino Sports Dream,” the company said.
Over two days of competition, golfers gathered to honor the legacy of courage and sacrifice associated with the Leyte Landing while also celebrating camaraderie and sportsmanship on the course.
BingoPlus said its support for the tournament is aligned with its commitment to help develop golf in the Philippines through grassroots and community-driven sports programs.
The sponsorship is also part of a broader series of sports and entertainment initiatives. On October 25, BingoPlus and The International Series Philippines hosted the BingoPlus x International Series Philippines Music Festival at the Aseana City Concert Grounds in Parañaque.
The event featured live performances by international EDM artist Alan Walker, Apl.de.Ap, Kiara, and local acts Parokya Ni Edgar, Bamboo, and others. Interactive booths and lounges were set up throughout the venue, with event merchandise and giveaways distributed to attendees.
“Guests and fans were treated to a night of celebration in music and sports all brought to you by the International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus: Swing for Filipino Sports Dream,” the group added.
A delayed telecast of the music festival will air on GTV on 31 October at 8 p.m. and on GMA on 2 November at 10 a.m.
