Miss Universe Organization President Raul Rocha has spoken out following the controversy involving Miss Universe Thailand Director Nawat Itsaragrisil and Miss Universe Mexico Fatima Bosch.

The issue began during a recent sashing ceremony, where Bosch was seen in tears after an alleged confrontation with Nawat. She later told members of the press, “Your director disrespected me,” claiming that he called her “dumb” and told her to “shut up.”

In response, Nawat addressed the issue in a livestream, saying that the situation was misunderstood and explaining that “some Latina candidates refuse to do sponsored videos.”

Following the backlash, Rocha released an official video statement on the Miss Universe Organization’s Instagram page, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to respect and dignity for all women.

“I will not allow the values of respect and dignity of women to be violated,” Rocha said.

He also announced that Nawat’s participation in the pageant has been restricted, stressing that the Miss Universe Organization will not tolerate any form of disrespect or humiliation toward its candidates.
