Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray expressed regret over the cancellation of her participation in the Miss Universe India 2026 coronation night, which is set to take place today, 23 August, due to unmet “certain conditions.”

In a statement released by Cornerstone Entertainment, Gray’s management team confirmed the beauty queen’s absence from the grand coronation night.

“Miss Universe 2018 and Cornerstone artist, Ms. Catriona Gray, was invited to participate in the grand coronation night of Miss Universe India 2026. However, since certain conditions required for her participation could not be met, she will unfortunately not be able to join,” the statement said.

“Catriona would have loved to take part in the festivities and witness the crowning of Miss Universe India 2026,” the statement added.

Gray shared the statement on her Instagram Stories and personally apologized to fans who were hoping to see her in India.

“So sorry to disappoint fans. I was so excited to meet the wonderful fans from India and experience their beautiful country for the first time. Hopefully one day soon,” she wrote.
