When it comes to rolling out products to achieve glowing and flawless skin, Korean beauty (K-beauty) has always been the industry leader, mall giant SM says in a statement.
To make K-beauty more accessible to Filipinos, SM Beauty recently held pop-up stores across its 78 stores in the country, where customers can shop some of the most-sought after K-beauty brands such as Deoproce, CosRX, Beauty of Joseon, Round Lab, Genabelle, Some by Mi and more.
To achieve your own skin goals this upcoming holidays, check out this nine-step K-beauty skincare routine:
Step 1: Oil-based cleanser
The first step is to clear impurities, makeup and sunscreen on your face. An oil cleanser cuts through the dirt effectively but gently.
Step 2: Water-based cleanser
A water-based cleanser is your second step for the double cleanse. It clears away the oil-cleanser and with it everything else to help restore your skin.
Step 3: Toner
A toner is an essential third step as it helps balance your skin’s PH levels, making sure your skin is at its natural, clear state.
Step 4: Essence
An essence preps the skin to receive the next steps of your routine apart from nourishing and hydrating it for an added brightening boost.
Step 5: Serum
For soft and bouncy skin, choose a serum that targets your skin’s major concerns and gently massage it into your skin, concentrating on your problem areas.
Step 6: Ampoule
An ampoule is a great follow-up to your serum. Usually applied once or twice a week, an ampoule provides targeted treatments for a number of concerns including dark spots, red marks and textured skin. An ampoule is also packed with ingredients to smooth out the skin.
Step 6: Sheet mask
Take a break and sit back with a sheet mask for extra hydration two to three times a week. Different variants harness various key ingredients that may surprise you.
Step 8: Moisturizer
Lock in all the benefits of your previous skincare steps with a moisturizer that soothes the skin for that plump, glass-skin look.
Step 9: Sunscreen
Sunscreen may be the last step but it is the first line of defense against skin concerns and imperfections. Apply it in the morning every day, even on days wherein you will just be staying indoors. Sun protection is key to healthy skin. Among the latest trends are sunscreens with probiotics.
