State weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday it is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
As of 2 a.m., the LPA was spotted about 1,525 kilometers east of Northern Mindanao and is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its 4 a.m. weather advisory.
Despite this, PAGASA said four weather systems are currently affecting the country and may trigger flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rain.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to influence weather over Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, while the northeast monsoon, or amihan, is bringing cooler winds to extreme northern Luzon.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over the Visayas, Mindanao, the Bicol Region, and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) due to the ITCZ.
Meanwhile, amihan will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rain over Batanes, Cagayan, and Ilocos Norte. Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), Aurora, and Isabela will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms caused by localized weather systems.
Moderate to strong northeast winds with moderate to rough seas will prevail over extreme northern Luzon, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
PAGASA said temperatures across the country are expected to range between 24.6°C and 30.5°C.
