The Philippine National Police (PNP) is deploying 50,253 police officers nationwide for the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days under the “Ligtas Undas 2025” Security and Safety Plan.
The police presence will be reinforced by an additional 16,592 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), along with 45,712 force multipliers, including local village watchmen and volunteers.
PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño announced the deployment at a press briefing Tuesday at Camp Crame, saying the PNP will increase its personnel strength by 25 percent to cover key public areas.
“Under this heightened alert status, the PNP will increase its personnel strength by 25 percent to reinforce existing deployments in public places such as cemeteries, transport terminals, major roads, and other areas of convergence,” Tuaño said.
Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said police visibility will be intensified, especially in Metro Manila, where large crowds are expected. Security operations will focus on major cemeteries, including the Manila North Cemetery, Manila South Cemetery, Bagbag Public Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina and San Juan Public Cemetery.
“So far, no security threats have been detected,” Nartatez said, “but the PNP will maintain close coordination with other law enforcement agencies and local government units.”
To ensure real-time coordination and rapid response, all deployed officers will be equipped with body-worn cameras linked to the PNP Command Center.
Additionally, 5,015 Police Assistance Desks will be established at cemeteries, terminals and major thoroughfares. The Unified 911 hotlines will remain active for immediate public assistance.
The PNP urged the public to cooperate with authorities, follow security protocols, and remain vigilant during the long weekend observance.
