Green GSM has been recognized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines with the E-Mobility Award for Technology Adoption at the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit. The citation points to the company’s push to get more Filipinos riding in electric vehicles and its work behind the scenes to make that shift practical.

The annual summit brings together officials, transport operators, carmakers, and tech providers. EVAP organizes the event and has been a key voice in shaping the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act. This year’s program again turned SMX into a hub for ideas, demos, and policy talk, with the aim of getting more EVs on Philippine roads.

Green GSM’s award stems from a few clear moves where the company rolled out what it says is the country’s first all-electric taxi fleet. It also invested in charging hubs, driver training, and the software needed to run a fleet that depends on batteries, not fuel. They aim to keep the rides safe and keep costs predictable for drivers and operators.

Dao Quy Phi, who leads Green GSM in Southeast Asia, called the recognition a team effort. “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from EVAP,” he said, noting the challenges of entering a new market and the need to line up infrastructure and rules to make EVs work for daily transport. He added that the company is committed to building an ecosystem that helps electric mobility thrive, working with partners and using VinFast technology to support local goals.

On the road, the fleet uses VinFast electric vehicles. Rides are quiet and emissions-free. Drivers follow strict safety and hygiene standards. That part feels routine to passengers, which is the point. The car should feel like any other taxi, only cleaner and calmer inside.

The less visible work happens in the control room and in the app. Green GSM pairs its vehicles with real-time fleet management. Dispatchers can see location, battery levels, and vehicle health. Passengers can check trip details and safety features through the Green GSM app and the Secure to Safe system. Drivers get route guidance and support when they need it. Small gains in the software stack add up to fewer downtimes and more reliable trips.

Partnerships play a big role as Green GSM opens its platform to local businesses and fleet operators that want to run EVs without building everything from scratch. Access to the charging network, tools, and operating playbooks lowers the barrier for groups that would like to try electric but worry about cost and know-how. The model spreads the risk and the benefits.

Policy alignment matters, too. Since entering the country, the company has worked with government agencies and advocates to make sure plans fit within EVIDA. That includes the pace of charging buildout and the standards for operating commercial EVs. It is the kind of work that decides if a pilot grows into a citywide service.

Recognition at PEVS does not end the job. It raises expectations. More charging points will be needed. More drivers will need training. More cities will want the service, and each city will have its quirks. Green GSM says it is in for the long run and will keep expanding the footprint of its vehicles and its digital tools.

You can spot the fleet in its cyan paint. For supporters of cleaner transport, it is a small but visible sign that the shift is underway. For commuters and riders like us, it is a quiet trip that simply gets them where they need to go. And to city planners, it is a case study in how public and private work can meet on the road. That is what this award tries to recognize.
