THE BUNKER, Bataan — Governor Joet S. Garcia on Friday said a sustainable provincial transport masterplan is being studied to improve traffic flow and the transportation system across the province, with assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd.
During a meeting at the Bataan Tourism Center for the Dissemination of Study Findings Workshop, the group discussed the Bataan Transport Diagnostic Study.
Garcia said the program aims to create a thorough study for a sustainable provincial transport masterplan that will improve traffic flow and the transportation system in Bataan.
A heavy volume of traffic is expected once the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) begins operations.
Then-Governor and now-Congressman Abet S. Garcia, proponent of the BCIB, said the study estimates around 5 million vehicles will pass through the bridge each year, connecting to the Roman Expressway.
Representatives from various towns, offices, and agencies involved in transportation also attended the meeting.
‘Kasama po nating dumalo sa nasabing pag-aaral ang mga kinatawan mula sa iba’t ibang bayan, tanggapan, at ahensya na may kinalaman sa transportasyon upang talakayin ang kalagayan ng transportasyon at mga hakbang upang mapaunlad ito para sa mas mabilis, ligtas, at episyenteng paglalakbay sa Lalawigan,’ Garcia said.
He added that the provincial government will continue coordinating with government agencies and other institutions to ensure smooth collaboration with communities, aiming to boost economic development and improve the living conditions of all Bataeños.
