Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has officially confirmed that its newest seven-seater compact SUV, the Destinator, is arriving on 20 November. The launch will take place at the Ring Garden of Ayala Malls Manila Bay, followed by a weekend-long test drive event at the Aseana City Concert Grounds.

The Destinator is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine that produces 163 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive setup. Mitsubishi’s Active Yaw Control is also part of the package, offering five drive modes, including one called “Tarmac,” meant for a sportier response.

Measuring 4,680mm long and 1,840mm wide, with a 2,815mm wheelbase, the new SUV has a confident stance and generous space inside. The front takes cues from the Xforce, featuring the brand’s Dynamic Shield design, a layered grille, and T-shaped LED headlamps. A panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels come standard.

While Mitsubishi has yet to show the Philippine-spec interior, units sold abroad come equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, an eight-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting.

Passengers can expect plenty of charging options with USB Type A and C ports reaching all the way to the third row. The cabin also features an electronic parking brake, a hands-free power tailgate, and a Yamaha-tuned premium sound system.

Perhaps the most notable feature is the introduction of Mitsubishi Connect, the brand’s first in-car telematics system in the country. This technology allows owners to check the vehicle’s condition and control select functions through a smartphone app, something never before offered on a Mitsubishi sold locally.

The Destinator’s arrival is a fresh step for Mitsubishi in the Philippines that adds a turbocharged and tech-packed SUV to its growing lineup. For those eager to see it in person, the vehicle will be on display from 20 to 23 November at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, with test drives open to the public during the same period.
