Makati City has reported major gains in employment and education during the first 100 days of Mayor Nancy Binay’s administration, underscoring her commitment to inclusive progress and people-centered governance.
On October 16, the city launched the Pantawid Trabaho Program (PTP), which provides temporary employment to 5,000 residents. The program hires qualified Makatizens aged 18 and above—including senior citizens and pregnant women fit to work—for 15 days of community service at a daily wage of P695. The initiative aims to offer short-term income support while promoting productivity and community involvement.
From July to September, the Makati Public Employment Service Office (PESO) achieved an outstanding job placement rate, helping thousands of referred job seekers find employment. Meanwhile, the Makati Internship Program gave students, graduates, and out-of-school youth valuable hands-on experience by assigning them to various city departments and barangays.
To further boost employment opportunities, the city will host a Mega Job Fair on 23 October 2025, at the Ayala Malls Circuit Activity Center. The event will feature numerous partner companies offering both local and international positions across multiple industries.
Mayor Binay’s administration also celebrated the city’s educators during World Teachers’ Day, recognizing 1,689 teaching and non-teaching personnel from public elementary, high school, and senior high schools. Each received a Teachers’ Kit containing a jacket, shirt, mini fan, tote bag, and gift voucher — a token of appreciation for their service and dedication to Makati’s youth.
“These accomplishments in our first 100 days reflect Makati’s continued drive to empower its people—by creating more jobs, investing in youth development, and honoring our hardworking teachers,” said Mayor Nancy Binay. “We remain focused on building a city that provides opportunities and nurtures every resident’s potential.”
The first 100 days of Binay’s term mark a strong beginning for an administration focused on employment growth, education, and community empowerment — reaffirming Makati’s vision of a city where progress is shared by all.
