The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has filed criminal charges against officials and employees of four companies following an incident in August where falling debris from a condominium killed one minor and injured two others.

The charges were filed Thursday, 16 October, before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide and Two Counts of Serious Physical Injuries.

To recall, the incident occurred 12 August 2025 along Tomas Morato Avenue when a portion of concrete fell from the upper part of Atherton Place Condominium, striking the victims.

The QCPD’s Special Investigation Team, working with technical experts, gathered evidence and assessed the building’s condition to determine accountability. The charges were filed against responsible officials and employees of JCRV Properties Inc./JCRV Land and Holdings Inc., Atherton Condominium Corporation, Smart Communications Inc., and Edgepoint Towers Inc.

QCPD acting district director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio commended the investigators and expressed sympathy to the victims and their families.

“We owe it to the victims and their loved ones to ensure that justice is served,” Silvio said. “This filing reflects our firm commitment to hold accountable those whose negligence endangers others.”
