

A missing fishing boat was found by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in the waters off of Mariveles, Bataan on 15 October 2025.
According to the PCG, the Search and Rescue (SAR) operations for the reported missing fishing banca (FBCA) John Vincent with four fishermen onboard were a success.
The PCG stated that they received a directive from the BRP Boracay (FPB-2401) to immediately proceed to the said area to conduct SAR operations for the missing fishing banca on the late night of 14 October 2025.
At around 03:10 a.m. on 15 October 2025, the said PCG vessel arrived at the area and initiated SAR operations. Several FBCAs in the area were also approached by BRP Boracay for inquiry on the possible sightings of the distressed fishing banca.
At approximately 04:10 a.m. the same day, BRP Boracay successfully located FBCA John Vincent and immediately launched its RHIB to conduct inquiry and initial assessment.
One crew member remained onboard the distressed fishing banca after being assessed and found not in need of medical attention. The remaining three crew members were transferred to the PCG vessel for further medical evaluation and assistance. Afterwards, BRP Boracay started towing operations.
Upon further assessment, all three personel were found to have normal vital signs, with one crewmember sustaining a minor scratch. Aside from medical assistance, all crew members were also provided with food, water, and basic care, including mental health and psychological support.
At 10:28 a.m., BRP Boracay successfully towed the distressed fishing banca to Mariveles Harbor. Then, FBCA John Vincent, along with its crew, was properly turned over to Coast Guard Sub-Station Mariveles.
Based on the report, the said fishing banca, with its four crew members, had been drifting since 11:00 p.m. on 12 October 2025, due to a defective alternator, and was in need of towing assistance.
