Philippine vehicle sales increased for a third straight month in July, with the industry posting its highest monthly total so far in 2026.

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) placed total market sales at 42,880 units. The figure combines 37,319 units reported by CAMPI-TMA members with estimates for other automotive brands.

Industry sales rose 2 percent from June and 5 percent from July 2025. CAMPI said this was the first year-on-year increase recorded in 2026.

Electrified vehicles supplied much of the gain. CAMPI said battery electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models accounted for 29.5 percent of July sales, up 18 percentage points from a year earlier.

CAMPI-TMA members sold 7,086 electrified vehicles during the month, 3.6 percent more than in June and 161.8 percent above July 2025. Hybrid vehicles led the group with 2,964 units, followed by battery electric vehicles at 2,520 and plug-in hybrids at 1,602.

Despite the stronger July result, member sales from January to July reached 241,725 units, 10.2 percent lower than the 269,207 units recorded in the same period last year.

Toyota Motor Philippines led the member brands in July with 17,797 units. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines followed with 6,271 units, while Suzuki Philippines sold 1,689. Honda Cars Philippines posted 1,256 units and Ford Group Philippines had 1,152.

CAMPI president Jose Maria Atienza said the industry hoped the positive trend would continue through the rest of the year.
