Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday questioned President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s recent statement expressing “full confidence” that the investigation into anomalous flood control projects would not reach his office.
“Sa ganitong ongoing pa ‘yung investigation kuno at inquiry kuno, sobrang magtataka ka bakit confident ‘yung Pangulo na hindi aabot sa Office of the President ‘yung iskandalo at ‘yung korupsyon,” she said during a press conference at the Kamuning Bakery Café in Quezon City, held in line with the celebration of World Pandesal Day.
Siya pa lang [BBM],” she added.
The Vice President, however, said she is confident that she will not be implicated in the alleged corruption scandal involving flood control projects, even if some people attempt to link her family and political allies to the anomalies.
Kasi unang-una, wala namang flood control projects sa OVP or sa Department of Education. At makakasabi naman talaga ang mga contractors and even si Secretary Bonoan, wala talaga akong at all project d’yan sa DPWH [Department of Public Works and Highways],” she said.
Doon siguro nila gagawan ng kuwento ‘yun,” the Vice President added.
