Barzaga on ethics hearing tardiness: ‘I was just playing computer games’

Cavite Fourth District Rep. Kiko Barzaga
Cavite 4th District Representative Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga admitted he was playing video games the night before he arrived late to a House ethics hearing on Monday.
Barzaga was scheduled to attend a hearing on ethics complaints filed by House Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno, chairperson of the National Unity Party (NUP), but arrived after the session had already concluded.
“My hearing was already over when I arrived. I was very busy last night. I was just playing games with my computer,” Barzaga said.
The lawmaker said he is ready to face any sanctions following his recent controversial statements against former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“I’m ready for anything, when it all started, when I fought against Romualdez. I was fully expecting to die. If it's just sanctions, that’s much better than dying,” he said.
