The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced Friday that it has recorded another significant gain after collecting P25.4 billion in revenues from January to September this year.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the positive direction of the revenue collection is proof that the collection target of P34 billion for 2025, which he set after implementing policy reforms, is indeed doable and currently on the right track to being achieved.
“This achievement is a vindication of what we fought for last year, and I express my gratitude to the men and women of the LTO for believing in me and for working with me when I said that it is doable,” Mendoza said.
“With this collection rate, we are on the right track to achieving the revenue collection target for 2025, which will be the highest in LTO history,” he stressed.
As of 30 September, LTO data revealed a collection of P25,469,343,321.16, which represents around 75 percent of the revenue collection target.
At the LTO Central Office, the target collection for 2025 is P906 million, but this has long been achieved. As of September 30, the collection made at the Central Office in Quezon City has reached P1.4 billion.
At least three regions are now under 20 percent short of their respective targets, while almost all are under 30 percent. But with three remaining months, the LTO Chief said he is confident that all Regional Offices will be able to achieve their respective targets.
With the progress of financial management in the agency, Mendoza said he is confident that they will be able to reach the P34 billion target his office set last year.
Mendoza emphasized the importance of revenue collections, as the money is being used for various government services and programs under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas.
He also lauded the LTO personnel for believing in him when he introduced policy directions to put the agency’s fiscal house in order upon assuming the top LTO post in 2023.
“The job is not yet done. We still have P8 billion to collect, and with your dedication and cooperation, we will achieve this goal together. Maraming salamat sa inyo!” Mendoza said.
