The local government of Manila on Friday disclosed that telecommunications firm Globe Telecom is set to expand its network infrastructure in the capital, with new cell towers planned for Tondo, the University Belt, North Harbor and Sampaloc.

This comes after Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso met with Globe executives in a roundtable discussion to address the company’s plans to enhance connectivity for the city’s residents, workers and students.

The meeting was attended by Globe president and CEO Carl Raymond Cruz, chief transformation and operations officer and chief customer experience officer Rebecca Eclipse and chief commercial officer Darius Jose Delgado.

Domagoso said Globe Telecom’s expansion is expected to boost digital infrastructure in the city, which is a key driver for business competitiveness and access to online services for residents.

The mayor stressed that the city government remains open to business expansion projects and pledged that investors would not face abuse or extortion from city officials or employees.

“Our principle — every business, small or large, new or an expansion, will surely create jobs for our city residents,” Domagoso said.
