The allure of Guam will take center stage this September as the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) joins the 3rd Travel Sale Expo, offering Filipino travelers exclusive deals and a closer look at one of the Pacific’s most captivating destinations.

Happening from 26 to 28 September at the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall, the event will gather over 200 exhibitors from the airline, hotel, tour, and cruise industries under the theme “Your Gateway to the World.” Organized by Oneklik Events and the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA), the expo promises special travel packages, discounted rates, and destination showcases for both seasoned and aspiring travelers.

GTBA Founding Chairman and TSE Chairperson Michelle Taylan described Guam as a “hidden gem” with more potential to attract Filipino tourists. “While Filipinos are among Guam’s top visitors, we're aiming to increase the numbers, especially since we haven't yet hit pre-pandemic figures,” Taylan said. Nearly 9,000 Filipinos visited Guam in 2024, representing about 60 percent of pre-COVID arrivals.

Known for its blend of Chamorro traditions, pristine beaches, and American-style conveniences, Guam remains a favorite among travelers from Japan and Korea, both of which enjoy visa-free access. Taylan noted, “We're pushing for the Philippines' inclusion in the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program, which would make it even easier for Filipinos to visit Guam and experience its beauty firsthand.”

The partnership between TSE and GVB was formalized through a contract signing by Taylan and GVB Philippines Sales Manager Philip Gejon, joined by GVB Account Manager Ginina Torreliza and Account Director Cheska Dizon.

Visitors to the GVB booth can expect information on travel requirements, curated packages, and opportunities to explore emerging attractions. Organizers say the event is also an ideal platform for travelers to compare destinations and lock in trips at the best possible rates.

For Guam, the goal is to welcome back more Filipino guests and inspire a deeper appreciation of the island’s cultural heritage and natural beauty. With new connections and competitive travel deals, the Pacific paradise is ready for a fresh wave of discovery.
