Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo will be in attendance at the 3rd FIG Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships at the Marriott Grand Ballroom from 20 to 24 November.

Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion said Yulo will be in the stands to support his younger brother Eldrew while also giving him some tips in his debut in the World Championships.

Eldrew is currently training in Japan under the guidance of Yulo’s former coach Munehiro Kugimiya.

“He will just be there to help his brother and watch because the judging is very strict,” Carrion said during a press conference at the Newport Resorts Worlds last Thursday.

“Everything has to be exact. Gymnastics is very particular about judging.”

Having Yulo in Eldrew’s corner should actually do wonders for him.

For one, Yulo is a frequent competitor in the senior division of the World Championships, being familiar with all the technicalities of the routines.

Carrion is urging the public to support Eldrew and Elisabeth Antone when they perform in the World Championships.

“Eldrew and Elisabeth Antone — both of them are abroad. She’s training in the United States and he’s training in Japan,” Carrion said.

“Cheer for them when you see them.”
